Turbo 264 Hd Activation Key
I've been using this product for a few years now -- through various software upgrades -- but have never been able to get any kind of consistency from it.
The device is supposed to speed up video encoding by incorporating a dedicated encoder to complement your computer's processors. However, I often get faster encode speeds using free software like Handbrake.
Actually, I am trying to encode a 42-minute 1080p video using the combined software and hardware while I am typing this, and my current encoding speed is 24 fps (frames per second). That's not exactly blazing. I am using an 8-core 2.8GHz Mac Pro computer, which is quite powerful by itself. However, the encoding software does not utilize enough of my computer's processors. According to my computer's activity monitor, the software is only using about 7 percent of my entire processing power during this encode.
Another problem I've had with the Turbo.264 HD is sync issues with audio. Usually, one video out of every 3 or 4 will be out of sync with the audio. And it's not a small amount. It's usually out of sync by about a half a second, and gets worse as the video progresses. I've been in contact with tech support and I've browsed many forums trying to resolve the issues; however, it seems to be a consistent problem with these devices that I've never been able to fix.
The big positive that I do like about this device is the ability to multitask efficiently. Because it uses so little of my computer's processing power, I am able to run several other tasks while I wait for the encoding to complete. Another positive is the customization options. Within the settings are several easy ways to tweak the size and quality of the video to your liking.
I've really tried to like this little thing. It's a great idea. It's compact. It's not too expensive. And when it works right, it's awesome. I went back and forth over how many stars to give the Turbo.264 HD. I originally had 2 stars on my review, but because there are a few pros and it is relatively inexpensive, I bumped it up to 3 stars. Still, I can't really recommend it to anyone else because of too many inconsistencies.
However, if you feel like $90 or whatever it's selling for now is worth the risk, then go for it. It does have its advantages, but if you're looking for something that will work right every time, you might want to keep looking.
